Drama / Romance
Synopsis
Val and Jess were once college sweethearts, deeply in love and inseparable. But after a painful falling out, they haven't spoken in over a decade. Val now finds herself single and lonely in her 30s, while Jess is trapped in an unhappy marriage with her husband.
When their best friend Robby passes away suddenly, they are both shattered. In his will, Robby asks for his ashes to be spread down the Atchafalaya basin, a place where they used to take camping trips together during their college years. Val and Jess decide to embark on a road trip to honor Robby's last wish, knowing that it will force them to confront their past and the reasons for their falling out.
As they make their way down the river, they revisit old memories and rediscover the love and passion they once shared. Despite the hurt and heartache that separated them for so long, they find themselves drawn to each other once again. The journey becomes an opportunity for them to explore their feelings and desires as they reconnect on a deeper level.
Amidst the beauty of the river and the memories of their friendship, Val and Jess confront their fears, doubts, and regrets. They face the reality of their present situations and the potential risks and consequences of giving their love a second chance.
The Soundtrack
As a storyteller, I always seek ways to elevate and enhance my craft. Music has been (and always will be) intrinsic to my creative process. It's a powerful tool in my arsenal, as it not only inspires me but also reflects the mood and imagery I'm conveying in my writing. That's why for every script I work on, I curate a playlist that transports me (and hopefully you, the reader) to the worlds I've created. So take a listen, immerse yourself in the music, and enjoy the journey.
